Obituary of Lessie Onley

EC Onley Lessie Smith Onley Native of Perquimans County, NC Mrs. Lessie Smith Onley, age 84, of the 200 block of Harney Street, Elizabeth City, NC, died Sunday, May 8, 2005, at Lake Taylor Hospital. Mrs. Onley, a native of Perquimans County, NC, was the daughter of the late Warren Watson Smith and Annie Copeland Smith and the widow of Jarvis Crafton Onley. She was a member of New Life Assembly of God Church and a homemaker. Mrs. Onley is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann Basnight, and husband Stanford Reid, and Lucille Onley Harrell, and husband Ike, all of Elizabeth City, NC; a son, Crafton Smith Onley of Elizabeth City, NC; four grand- children, Donna C. Kitchen, Lesley J. Scott, Bill Harrell, and Joseph Harrell; and seven great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at 2:00 PM at Twiford’s Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Clay Manos and the Rev. Steve Strickland officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7:00 to 8:30 at the funeral home and at other times at the residence of the daughter’s residence, Mr. & Mrs. Ike & Lucille Harrell, 202 Reedy Creek Drive, Elizabeth City, NC.
