CHARLIE MILTON COOPER, JR.
Native of Elizabeth City, NC
Charlie Milton Cooper, Jr., 91, of 1008 Hunnicutt Ave., Elizabeth City died Thursday, May 12, 2005, at his residence. He was born in Elizabeth City, NC to the late Charlie M. Cooper, Sr., and Carrie Roughton Copper and was the widower of the late Kathleen Newbern Guard Cooper. Mr. Cooper was a retired supervisor with the U. S. Postal Service, a member of E. C. Lion’s Club for over fifty years and a very active member of First United Methodist Church where he held various positions. Mr. Cooper was an U. S. Navy veteran of World War II; he was awarded the Victory World War II Metal, European African Middle Eastern Area with a star, and Good Conduct Metal.
He is survived by a niece Ruth Guard Daniels and husband, Royden, Jr. of Newport News, VA, great nephews, David Cooper Daniels and wife, Laura of Kill Devil Hills, NC, Royden E. Daniels III and wife, Sandra, of Charleston, SC and Wesley Foreman Daniels of Morehead City, NC and four great-great nephews. Mr. Cooper is also survived by another niece, Susan Lynn Cooper of Macon, GA, three great nieces, Melanie Smith and husband, Bayne, Taylor Alexander and husband, David and Ashley Cooper all of Atlanta, GA and a great nephew, Cooper Cook and wife Lisa of Macon, GA.
Graveside services will be conducted Sunday, May 15, 2005, at 3:00pm in the Old Hollywood Cemetery by Rev. T. R. Miller. Twiford Funeral Home, 405 E.
