Obituary of George H. “Jack” Privott
George Haywood ‘Jack’ Privott, 82, of Currituck, NC died Saturday, May 21, 2005 at his residence. A native of Gates County, he was born the son of the late George Haywood and Eva Mae Harrell Privott, and was the husband of Cornelia Belch Privott of the residence. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, retired from Civil Service, a member of Currituck Lodge # 463 AF and AM, and a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church.
Besides his wife, Mr. Privott is survived by: one daughter Ann Privott Via and husband Balfour of Richmond, VA; one son William George Privott and wife Judy of Bells Island, NC; two sisters, Frances Wilkins of Edenton, NC, and Marjorie Taylor of Longwood, Florida; one brother Mack Privott of Goldsboro, NC; and four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was predeceased by one brother Joe Privott.
A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, May 24, 2005 at 3:30 PM in Twiford’s Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church St. by Revs. Lamar Herndon and Frank Thigpen. Burial will follow in Moyock Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening at the Funeral Home from 7:00 until 8:00 PM and also following the service. Other times the family will be at the residence.
