Obituary of Jackson M. Cushing
FRISCO, NC
JACKSON MORSE CUSHING, 75, of Frisco, NC died Tuesday, May 24, 2005 in a Nags Head hospital. Mr. Cushing, born in Westboro, MA, was the former owner and operator of the Avon Fishing Pier. He managed numerous businesses and was formerly with the Dept. of Agriculture. He was a graduate of Boston University, attended Springfield College and was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force.
He was the son of the late Dr. Harold B. and Catharine P. Jackson Cushing.
Mr. Cushing is survived by his wife, Eleanor LaVolpe Cushing of the residence; a daughter, Valerie C. Willis of Frisco, NC; a son, Robert J. Cushing of Ramstein, Germany; two sisters, Erica Bradford of Columbia, CT and Valerie Gruber of Brookline, MA; a brother, Bradford S. Cushing of Exton, PA; three grandchildren, Ciara Plumley, Theresa Cushing and Elena Cushing.
A memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at 11:00 AM. Those interested in attending will need to contact the family at 252.995.3017 for memorial service location. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hatteras Island Rescue Squad, Frisco, NC 27936.
