Obituary of Wiley “Tom” Reid

EC Reid W. C. ‘Tom’ Reid Native of Pasquotank County Wiley Clarence ‘Tom’ Reid, age 88, of 531 Gumbridge Road, Elizabeth City, NC, died Friday, June 3, 2005, at the Albemarle Hospital. Mr. Reid, a native of Pasquotank County, was the son of the late Thomas Trueblood Reid and Louise Sanders Reid and the widower of Margaret Virginia Halsey Reid. He was a retired watch repairman and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mr. Reid is survived by two daughters, Betty Reid Midgett, and husband Rodney, of Kill Devil Hills, NC, and Wiley Reid Beales of Elizabeth City, NC; a sister, Mary Perry of Elizabeth City, NC; two brothers, Thomas V. Reid and Johnny B. Reid both of Elizabeth City, NC; two grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. A funeral service will be Sunday, June 5, 2005 at 2:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Thorn and the Rev. Aaron Pendley officiating. Burial will be in New Hollywood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence and immediately after the service at the church.
