Obituary of Carlos Oden

Hatteras, NC Carlos Desmond Oden, 87, a lifelong resident of Hatteras Village, died June 2, 2005. He served in the United States Navy and was a veteran of World War II. He was owner and operator of the Sea Gull Motel, a member of the Cape Hatteras Masonic Lodge and a member of the Hatteras United Methodist Church. He was the son of Dan Queen Oden and Alice Peele Oden and the husband of Josephine Austin Oden of the home. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son Jeffrey Lynn Oden and wife Kathleen Royston Oden; a granddaughter Marci Alison Oden and one sister, Louise Oden Graham. He was predeceased by a son Kenneth Wade Oden, two sisters, Selma Oden Hershman and Melba Oden Eure and a brother Donald Singleton Oden. A memorial service will be conducted at the Hatteras Village Civic Center on Sunday, June 5, 2005 at 2:00 PM. Memorial donations may be directed to Hatteras United Methodist Church, P.O.
