Obituary of W. Thomas Midgett

EC Midgett W. Thomas Midgett Resident of Nags Head, NC W. Thomas Midgett, age 45, of 110 East Gray Eagle Street, Nags Head, NC, died Sunday, June 5, 2005 at Outer Banks Hospital. He was born in Pasquotank County, NC, son of the late Wilbert I. Midgett and Helen Marie Creef Midgett, and was the husband of Mary Gibbs Midgett of Elizabeth City, NC. Besides his wife, Mr. Midgett is survived by two sons, Eric Midgett of Nags Head, NC, and Corey Midgett of Elizabeth City, NC; four step children, Danny Phelps, Michelle Phelps, and Kelly Vann all of Elizabeth City, NC, and Staff Sergeant Joseph Phelps of Fayetteville, NC; two sisters, Debbie Hurdle and fianc Bill of Elizabeth City, NC, and Betty Meads and husband Allen of Elizabeth City, NC; two nieces, Tracey and Tammy; two nephews, Keith and Glen; and his best friend, Thomas Willoughby. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 8, 2005 at 2:00 pm in Twifords Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Leigh Gillis officiating. Entombment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 7:00 until 8:00 and at other times at the residence of the sister, Betty Meads, 103 Coopers Lane, Elizabeth City, NC.
