Obituary of Allen L. Krenk
Allen L. Krenk, age 61, owner of Ocean Annie’s died at Chesapeake Memorial Hospital on Saturday, June 4, 2005 following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born February 27, 1944 in Glendale, CA, to Tony and Marie Krenk. He attended Bee (NE) Grade School, granduated from Seward (NE) High School in 1961, and went on to graduate from the University of Nebraska Lincoln with a B.A. in Business Asministration in 1964. On February 20, 1965 he was united in marriage to Judith Jacobson in Seward, Nebraska.
The same year Allen and Judith moved to Schenectady, New York and he began working for General Electric. The family moved with GE from New York to Louisville, KY then to Hendersonville, NC. In 1980. Allen stated a counsulting business in Chapel Hill, and moved his family to the Outher Banks two years later where Allen and Judith together started Ocean Annie’s.
Allen was a member of Duck United Methodist CHurch where he served as an administrative counsel for many years.
Allen is survived by his wife, Judy; his eldest daughter and her husband, Jeff and Trina Krenk of Raleigh, his youngest daughter and her husband Angela and Zachary Taylor of Raleigh, four grandchildren, Jessica Hoffmann, Timonthy Hoffmann, Melaine Hoffmann and Daniel Krenk; his parents Tony and Marie Krenk of Hudson Florida and two brothers, Les Krenk of Kihei, Maui, Hawaii, and Cary Krenk of Bowie, Maryland. He is further survived by other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services for Allen L. Krenk will be held at 11:00 AM , Wednesday June 8, 2005 at Duck United Methodist CHurch. The rev. David Clift, pastor, will officate. Relatives and friends are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name (The Allen Krenk Memorial Fund) for the American Cancer Society with the Bank of Currituck.
