Obituary of Kerry “Krazy” Scott McKinley

Kerry “Krazy” Scott McKinley, 51, of Kitty Hawk, NC died Friday, June 3, 2005 at Albemarle Hospital, Elizabeth City, NC. He was born on June 1, 1954 at Camp Le Jeune, NC. He worked for many years as a self-employed carpenter, but his ture love was fishing and spending time with his friends. Jerry was also very artistic and painted many “lighthouse” scenes for friends and family. Kerry was preceded in death by his mother, Fran Akers. He is survived by his father, Frank James McKinley and wife, Mickey of Farminton, NM; his brother, Darrel MCKinley and wife, Nancy of Kitty Hawk, NC; four nieces and newphews, Jeff McKinley and Stefanie McKinley of Ashville, NC, Kristen and Brett McKinley of Hickory, NC. Kerry also leaves behind many friends and in particular, his life long friend Thomas Baum. A memorial service will beheld on the sound at the family home,1327 Kitty Hawk Road, on Saturday, June 11, 2005 at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058-5216. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at the MIC Unit and the Sic Unit at Albemarle Hospital for their loving care that they gave Kerry during these last several months. Kerry was a unique person and followed his own path, but, in doing so, touched many hearts. He will be truly missed. May you rest in peace at Driftwood Acres on the sound.
