Obituary of Mary Kecskes

Mary Agnes Grendysa Kecskes, 88, a resident of Dearborn, MI., died Sunday June 12, 2005 at the home of her son in Shawboro, NC.
Mrs. Kecskes was born February 5, 1917, in Wayne County, Detroit, MI and was the daughter of the late Anthony A. and Agniescka Widok Grendysa.
She was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church and a former employee with General Motors and Houbline Corporation.
Survivors include her sons; Roger Kent of Shawboro, NC, John Kecskes and Darrell Kecskes both of Dearborn, MI., six grandchildren Cheryl Johnson, Lori Byrd, Karen Jenners, Darren Kecskes, Heather Corcoran and David Kecskes, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Kecskes was preceded in death by her husband Andrew B. Kecskes in June of 1975, and her son James Robert Kent, her brothers Edward Grendysa and Thomas Pado.
A rosary prayer service will be held Thursday evening June 16, 2005, at 7:00 P. M. at Twiford Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC, with The Very Rev. James Buchholz, V. F. officiating. The family will join friends following the rosary prayer service, and other times at the home of her son Roger Kent, 114 Etheridge Drive, Shawboro, NC.
A Mass of Resurrection will be held Friday June 17, 2005, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 154 Maple Road, Maple, NC with The Very Rev. James Buchholz, V. F. officiating.
A service will be held in Dearborn, MI., at a time to be announced. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Detroit, MI.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be directed to: St. Katharine Catholic Church Building Fund, 154 Maple Road, Maple, NC 27956.
