Obituary of Eva Smith

EC Smith Eva Mae Cain Smith Resident of Camden County, NC Eva Mae Cain Smith, 89, of 115 Beech Tree Drive, Shiloh, NC, died Monday, June 20, 2005 at her residence. She was born in Sampson County, NC, daughter of the late John Wesley and Lizzie Ray Cain and was the widow of Luther Gorden Smith. She was a retired cashier for Roses Department Store and a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. Mrs. Smith is survived by a daughter, Grace Smith Gagnon of Shiloh, NC; two sisters, Alice Liverman of Murfreesboro, NC, and Lillian Jackson of White Oak, NC; three granddaughters, Marilyn G. Nooney and husband Bill of Camden, NC, Susan Gagnon and Dean Riggs of Shiloh, NC, and Cathy G. Monroe and husband Joey of Kitty Hawk, NC; and six great grandchildren, Luther Gagnon, Billy Nooney, Daniel Nooney, Jesse Nooney, Melissa Monroe, and Matthew Monroe. Beside her husband and parents, Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by a sister, Isabell Tatum, a brother, Johnnie Cain, a son-in-law, Joseph Gagnon, Sr., and a grandson, Joseph Gagnon, Jr. A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 23, 2005 at 12:00 pm in Ebenezer Baptist Church with the Rev. Frank Thigpen officiating. A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, June 25, 2005 at 12:00 PM in the Suggs Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Bladen County, NC.
