Richard Samuel Hepner
Native of Chesterfield County, VA
Richard Samuel Hepner, 69, of Virginia Dare Apts, Elizabeth City, NC died Sunday, July 03, 2005, at his residence. He was born in Richmond, VA to the late George D. and Violet O’Dell Wright Hepner. Mr. Hepner was a retired food service employee with the Marriott Corp. and later worked at the Whistling Pines Motel and part time at the Travelers Motel. He was a Baptist and an U. S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his longtime friend and caregiver, Herbert R. Jordan of Elizabeth City, two sisters, Betty Clark and husband, Jim, of Galion, OH and Elizabeth Litton of Chester, VA; a half brother, Freddie Beck and wife, Katie, of Chesterfield Co, VA and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, George D. Hepner, Jr. and five sisters, Jean Sprouse, Margy Hertsch, Joyce Dow, Doris Douglas and Jackie Hepner.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 6, 2005, at 11:00am in Twiford’s Memorial Chapel. Entombment will follow in the West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home, Tuesday evening from 7:00 until 8:00pm and at other times at his residence, Virginia Dare Apts, Apartment M-1, Elizabeth City, NC.
