Robert W. Jennings
Chesapeake ‘ Robert ‘Bob’ Wilson Jennings, 76 died at his home on Wednesday, August 3, 2005. He was born in old Norfolk County to the late Mary McCoy Harris and Claude Jennings. Bob retired from shop 38 at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a veteran having served in the US Army during the Korean War. Bob was a member of Moyock Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and was a member of the Faith Bible Class. He was also a member of the Great Bridge Senior Citizens Club and the Hickory Senior Citizens Club.
Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Dorothy S. Jennings; two sons, Robert W. Jennings II and wife Allyson of Chesapeake, and Steven ‘Randy’ R. Jennings of Richmond; honorary daughter, Linda M. Conley and husband Tom of Smithfield; three grandsons, Nicholas Jennings, Jason and Josh Beasley; sister, Frances J. James and husband Jack; sister-in-law, Elizabeth S. Rawls and husband Merrill; one niece and five nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00am at Twiford’s Colonial Chapel, Chesapeake with Pastor Vic. Ramsey officiating. Burial will follow at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 7:00 until 8:30 pm. Memorial donations may be made to Moyock Baptist Church, P.O. Box 459, Moyock, NC 27958.
