Obituary of Marie Cartwright

EC CARTWRIGHT Shiloh, NC Marie Elliott Cartwright, age 88, of 112 Avery Drive, Shiloh, NC, died Thursday, August 18, 2005, in the Albemarle Hospital. She was born in Newport News, VA, daughter of the late Edward Luther Elliott and Sarah McIntosh Elliott, and was wife of the late Grover G. Cartwright. Mrs. Cartwright retired as the former co-owner of Mildred’s Florist in Elizabeth City, and attended First Baptist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Margaret Williams Vann of Virginia Beach, VA; a son, Henry Marvin Williams and wife Carol of Portsmouth, VA; a sister, Audrey Foster of Norfolk, VA; four grandchildren, Richard Vann and wife Jodi of Lafayette, CO, Mark Vann and wife Karen of Roanoke, VA, Jeff Williams of Portsmouth, VA, and Chuck Williams, Jr. of Memphis, TN; and one great granddaughter, Nicole Marie Vann. Besides her husband and parents, Mrs. Cartwright was preceded in death by a son, Charles Richard Williams, two sisters, and two brothers. A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 20, 2005 at 11:00 am in Old Hollywood Cemetery with the Rev. Mason Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 and at other times at the residence, 112 Avery Drive, Shiloh, NC.
