Obituary of Raymond Wine, Sr.

EC WINE Elizabeth City, NC Raymond Lee Wine, Sr., age 69, of 1623 East Street, Elizabeth City, NC, died Wednesday, August 31, 2005. He was born in Danville, VA, son of the late Jake Wine and Annie Phelps Wine, and was the husband of Virginia Sadler Wine. He was retired from the NC Department of Corrections and a retiree after serving 21 years in the US Navy as a signalman. Besides his wife he is survived by one daughter, Deborah Roby of Ogden UT; one son, Raymond Lee Wine, Jr. and his wife Angie of Elizabeth City, NC; three sisters, Sadie Spencer of MS, Frances Meeks of Eden, NC, and Lula Davis of Collinsville, VA; two brothers, Harry Wine of Reidsville, NC, and Bernard Wine of Martinsville, VA; one granddaughter, Yvette Gilbert of Odgen, UT; three grandsons, Johnny and Cody Wine of Elizabeth City, NC, and Guy Gilbert of Ogden, UT. A funeral service will be Saturday, September 3, 2005, at 11:00 AM in Twiford’s Northside Chapel, 1115 Northside Road, Elizabeth City, NC, with the Rev. Ronnie Gilliam officiating. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at Twiford’s Northside Chapel.
