Obituary of Elwood Tolson, Sr.

FRISCO, NC ELWOOD PARSONS TOLSON, SR., 92, passed away at his home in Frisco, NC on Wednesday, August 31, 2005. Mr. Tolson, born in Frisco on October 9, 1912, was a retired truck driver for NC Dept. of Transportation. He was the son of the late Jessie Benjamin and Anna Belle Austin Tolson and the widower of the late Alice Rena Austin Tolson. Mr. Tolson is survived by six daughters, Eugenia Willis of Hatteras, NC, Amelia Barnett, Avis Butler, Catherine Phelps and Donna Swain, all of Frisco, NC, Anna Baum of Wanchese, NC; three sons, Gary Tolson, Woody Tolson and Edward Tolson, all of Frisco, NC; two brothers, Adrian Tolson of Norfolk, VA and Leslie Tolson of Texas; twenty grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at the home of Edward Tolson, Frisco, on Saturday, September 3, 2005 at 11:00 am with Rev. H. J. Willis officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives at the home of Catherine Phelps in Frisco on Friday, September 2, 2005. Twiford’s Island Chapel, Hatteras is assisting the family with arrangements.
