Obituary of John L. Belvin, Jr.

COLINGTON, NC JOHN LEE BELVIN, JR., 67, of Colington, NC died Monday, September 5, 2005 in a Chesapeake, Virginia hospital. Mr. Belvin, born in Portsmouth, VA, was retired from the U.S. Air Force and was a Vietnam veteran. He was a member of the American Legion Post #288. Mr. Belvin was the son of the late John Lee Belvin, Sr. and the late Mildred Bowden Belvin. Mr. Belvin is survived by his wife, Barbara Bowman Belvin of the residence; a daughter, Gayla McMahan of Colington, NC; a step-daughter, Cindy Nixon of Currituck, NC; two sons, Ricky Belvin of Colington, NC and Leonard Belvin of Kitty Hawk, NC; two step-sons, Richard Lane of Wilmington, NC and Bill Lane of Colington, NC; fourteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at Hilltop Cemetery, Colington, NC on Thursday, September 8, 2005 at 2:00 pm with Rev. David Daniels officiating. The family will receive friends at the residence. Twiford Colony Chapel, Manteo is assisting the family with arrangements.
