Obituary of Myrna W. Dorris

Frisco, NC Myrna Willis Dorris, 63, died Thursday, September 8, 2005 at the Outer Banks Hospital in Nags Head. Ms. Dorris was born in Frisco and was a charter member of New Hope Fellowship Church. She was the daughter of the late Hobson and Martha Farrow Willis. She is survived by one daughter, Tiffany Meekins and husband Ryan of Avon; three sons; Stewart Ballance and wife Angie of Frisco, Stephen Ballance and wife Sheila, also of Frisco and Stanley Ballance and wife Ann of Ashland, NC; two sisters, Arvella Peele of Elizabeth City and Sylvia Sawyer of Manns Harbor; two brothers, Delmer Willis of Frisco and Perley Willis of Texas; six grandchildren; Karlene, Sabrina, Sydney, Shayley, Ryan, Shannon. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Frisco Assembly of God on Monday, September 12th, 2005 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Roger Barnett and Rev. Rick Sonnycalf officiating. Burial will take place in the Willis Family Cemetery in Frisco. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday, September 11, 2005 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dare County Friends of Youth, P.O. Box 1000, Manteo, NC 27954 and New Hope Fellowship, P.O. Box 310, Frisco, NC 27936. Twiford’s Island Chapel, Hatteras, is assisting the family with these arrangements.
