Native of Pasquotank County
Mr. Horace Marshall Jackson, age 89, of 103 Jennings Drive, Elizabeth City, NC, died Sunday, September 11, 2005, at his residence. Mr. Jackson, a native of Pasquotank County, was the son of the late James Jackson and Eldora Savin Jackson, and the husband of Wilma Russell Jackson of the residence. He was a self-employed bulldozer operator and a member of Berea Baptist Church, Camden County Hunting Club and Sunbury Hunting Club.
Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter, Dorinda Walls, and husband Juddy, of Ashland, VA; two step-daughters, Nancy J. Sawyer, and husband Phil, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Bonita Sawyer of Savannah, GA; a step-son, Sam Sawyer, and wife Jean, of South Mills, NC; a sister, Elvie V. Jackson of Elizabeth City, NC, eight grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. He was predeceased by two wives, Marie B. Jackson and Emily J. Jackson; a sister, Achsa Jennings; and a brother, James Jackson.
A funeral service will be Tuesday, September 13, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Twiford’s Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Glenn Greenway officiating. Burial will be in New Hollywood Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately after the service in the lobby of the funeral home and at other times at the residence.
