Obituary of Susie Long

EC Long Susie Spruill Long Resident of Elizabeth City, NC Susie Irene Spruill Long, 89, of Elizabeth City, NC, died Friday, September 30, 2005 at Winslow Memorial Home. She was born in Columbia, NC, the daughter of the late Charlie D. and Frances Cahoon Spruill and was the widow of Raleigh Wood Long. She was a retired L.P.N. at Albemarle Hospital, a member of Salem Baptist Church, and Order of the Eastern Star, Elizabeth City Chapter #44. Mrs. Long is survived by four daughters, Sylvia Anne Parsons of Elizabeth City, NC, Kathryn Wood Long of Charlotte, NC, Susan Michele Long of Chandler, AZ, and Pamela Dale Mims of Raleigh, NC; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Sunday, October 2, 2005 at 2:00 pm in Twiford’s Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jeffrey Russell officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Saturday evening, from 7:00 until 8:30 and following the service in the lobby of the funeral home, and at other times at the residence of the daughter, Sylvia Parsons, 1274 Soundneck Road, Elizabeth City, NC.
