Obituary of Horace P. Toppings

Horace P. Toppings, 63, of 216 Zack Circle, Elizabeth City, NC, died Friday, September 30, 2005 at Albemarle Hospital. He was born in Rocky Mount, NC, son of the late Clannie and Janie Forbes and was the husband of Phyllis Jennings Toppings of the residence. Mr. Toppings was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the National Guard. Besides his wife, Mr. Toppings is survived by three daughters, Cheryl Wilson and husband Lee, Janie Toppings, and Teri Houghton and husband Rich all of Elizabeth City; two sisters, Evelyn Wilson of Red Oak, NC, Shirley Maxwell of High Point, NC; a brother, Daniel Toppings of Houston, TX; and three grandchildren, Tracy Wilson, Christopher Wilson, and Tara Kight. A graveside service will be held Monday, October 3, 2005 at 11:00 am in West Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence, 216 Zack Circle, Elizabeth City, NC.
