Obituary of David Leon Pruitt

PRUITT KITTY HAWK, NC DAVID LEON PRUITT, 58, of Kitty Hawk, died, Tuesday, October 4, 2005, in his residence. Mr. Pruitt was born in Elizabeth City and was a retired Senior Master Sgt in the U.S. Air Force and retired from the N.C. Dept of Transportation Ferry Division as a safety officer. Mr. Pruitt was a former member of the Town of Kitty Hawk Planning Board and a member of the Dare County Wildlife Commission. He was the son of Doris Perry Pruitt of Kitty Hawk and the late Paul David Pruitt, Jr and the husband of Beckye Brown Pruitt. Besides his wife and mother surviving are one daughter: Callie Lynn Pruitt of Columbus, Ohio and one son: Paul Richard Pruitt and wife Wendy of San Antonio, Texas; two brothers: Michael Pruitt and wife Antoinette of Raleigh and Jeff Pruitt and wife Bo of Kitty Hawk; three grandchildren: David, Sean and Emma. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 8, 2005, at 1:00 p.m. in Austin Cemetery by Rev. Richard Stone. Military honors will be held at the grave. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Outer Banks Cancer Support Group, P.O. Box 3384, Kill Devil Hills, NC 27948.
