Obituary of Luther Jones

EC JONES Elizabeth City, NC Luther Newby Jones, age 85, of 515 Meadstown Road, Elizabeth City, NC, died Wednesday, October 5, 2005, at his residence. He was a native of Pasquotank County, NC, son of the late Josiah Jones and Sophia Louise Jones Jones, and was husband of the late Margie Meads Jones. Mr. Jones served in the US Army during WWII. He was a retired Hardware Salesman and a member of Eureka Methodist Church. He is survived by one daughter, Lilly Williams of Greensboro, NC; three sons, Luther A. Jones and his wife Judy of New Bern, NC, Walter P. Jones and his wife Kim, Mark L. Jones, and his wife Shirley, all of Elizabeth City, NC; one sister, Ilma Allen of Baltimore, MD; eleven grandchildren, and one great grandchild. A graveside service will be Saturday, October 8, 2005, at 4:00 PM in the New Hollywood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM in Twiford’s Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC.
