Obituary of James Edwards, Jr.

EC EDWARDS James Hugh ‘Jim’ Edwards, Jr., 65, of 220 Lane Drive, Elizabeth City, NC, was born August 7, 1940, went to the Kingdom on October 9, 2005 at his residence. Mr. Edwards was born in Philadelphia, PA, and was the son of the late James Hugh Edwards and Adilade Parks Hensley. Mr. Edwards was blessed with two good careers; as a young man, he served on the fire department for the City of Pasadena, CA. Then later was a builder and remodel homes and properties. He enjoyed being a fan of all sports activities, and played a decent game of golf at times. ‘My greatest blessing was that I was in love every day of my life. Since I met my wife and was loved by her each and everyone of those days; a person cannot be more blessed than that.’ He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Mary Giles Edwards, daughter Stacie Edwards Hodes and her husband Wayne of Mandeville, LA, son Eric Hugh Edwards of Oklahoma City, OK, his step mother Doris Edwards of Snellsville, Ga, two sisters Billie Jo Bellerue and her husband Ken of Henderson, NV and Candice Lee Weitz and her husband Barry of Hereford, AZ, three grandchildren, Vincent Edwards Velarde, Sarah Velarde and Whitney Edwards. A son Marc went to the Kingdom in 1997. A memorial service will be held at Twiford Funeral Home at a time to be announced.
