Obituary of Marguerite Tulley

Marguerite Alexander Tulley, 84 of 1411 Crescent Drive, Elizabeth City died Friday evening, October 14, 2005, in the Pitt Memorial Hospital, Greenville, NC. She was born in Elizabeth City, NC to the late William James and Louise Bartlett Alexander and was the widow of the late James Francis Tulley. Mrs. Tulley was a retired civil service employee with the Social Security Administration, a member of the First United Methodist Church, and an avid bridge player. She is survived by two sons, James Douglas Sawyer and wife, Jane, of Jacksonville, NC and Patrick Andrew Tulley of Elizabeth City, NC; a step son, John L. Sawyer of Camden, NC; two grandchildren, James Douglas Sawyer, Jr. and Andrew Ryan Sawyer; and a great granddaughter, Zan Marie Sawyer; a sister-in-law Frances Brizzell Alexander of Kinston, NC; a nephew Bill Alexander of Tarboro, NC; and numerous cousins in Camden County. She was preceded in death by a brother William Douglas Alexander. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, October 17, 2005, at 2:00 P. M. at the First United Methodist Church, with Rev. T. R. Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home Sunday evening from 7:00 until 8:00 and at other times at the residence, 1411 Crescent Drive, Elizabeth City.
