Obituary of Iola Jordan

EC JORDAN Iola Cooper Jordan, age 90, of 848 Wellfield Road, Elizabeth City, NC, died Monday, October 17, 2005, in the Albemarle Hospital. She was a native of Gatesville, NC, daughter of the late Ivie A. Cooper and Lillie M. Jordan, and was wife of the late John J. ‘Jack’ Jordan. She was a member of the Fountain of Life Pentecostal Holiness Church and the Disabled Americans Veterans Auxiliary. She is survived by one daughter, Iris J. Bundy of Elizabeth City, NC, and two daughter in laws, Katherine Jones of Elizabeth City, NC, and Frances Jones of LaGrange, NC; two sisters, Annie Mae Stafford of Elizabeth City, NC, Clarine Jett of Medical Lake, WA; three brothers, Roland Cooper and Horace Edward Cooper both of Elizabeth City, NC, and Osie Cooper of Hertford, NC; nineteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by one daughter, Lorayne Winslow, three sons, Ray, Herbert, and Maylon Jones, one sister, Delia Hufton, two brothers, George and Ivie Cooper, and her stepmother, Mae B. Cooper. A funeral service will be Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at Twiford’s Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC, at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Roland Cooper officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the lobby of the funeral home immediately following the service.
