Obituary of Annette Bates

EC BATES Rocky Mount, NC Annette Giguere Bates, age 87, formerly of Herrington Road, Elizabeth City, NC, died Thursday, October 20, 2005, in Nash General Hospital, Rocky Mount, NC. She was born in Vancouver, Canada, and was daughter of the late William Giguere and Clarise Lamonneux Giguere, and wife of the late Erwin Henry Bates. Mrs. Bates is survived by one son, David Bates and his wife Anne of Rocky Mount, NC; one daughter in law, Jo Anna Bates of Poplar Branch, NC; two sisters, Yvonne Armstrong and Jacqueline Tanaka both of Burnaby-British Columbia, Canada; grandson, Douglas Bates and his wife Susan of Poplar Branch, NC; grandson, Kenneth Bates of Oahu, Hawaii; granddaughter, Anne Christine Chewning and her husband Scott of Raleigh, NC; granddaughter Pamela Staples and her husband Kevin of Shiloh, NC; and granddaughter Susan Bates and her husband Jamie Kirkpatrick of Cary, NC; three great grandchildren, Dillon Bates, Elizabeth Staples and Alexander Staples. She was predeceased by one son, Phillip Bates. A graveside service will be Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 2:00 PM in the West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Fredricka Steenstra officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM in Twiford’s Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC.
