Obituary of John E. Sawyer

EC Sawyer John E. Sawyer Pasquotank County native Mr. John Edward Sawyer, age 69, of 537 Bethany Church Road, Belvidere, NC, died Tuesday, October 18, 2005 at the Chowan Hospital. Mr. Sawyer, a native of Pasquotank County, was the son of the late Johnny S. Sawyer and Nora Willy White Sawyer. He was a Baptist and a truck driver for Parkway Agriculture. Mr. Sawyer is survived by two sons, Randy Sawyer of Washington, NC, and Terry Sawyer of Belvidere, NC; three step-daughters, Brenda Hewitt, Bonita Hewitt and Sarah Sawyer; a sister-in-law, Alice Sawyer of Belvidere, NC; fourteen grandchildren; and one great grandchild. A graveside funeral service will be Thursday, October 20, 2005 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. E. Vernon Gilmer, Jr., and the Rev. Troy Holland officiating in the family cemetery in Weeksville across from the Union Church. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7:00 to 8:30 PM and at other times at the residence.
