Obituary of Lillie S. Hughes

Camden, NC Lillie Sanderlin Hughes, age 92, of 346 Trotman Road, Camden, NC, died Friday, October 21, 2005, at her residence. She was a native of Currituck, NC, daughter of the late John Wesley Sanderlin and Roxie Pierce Sanderlin, and was wife of the late Clyde C. Hughes. She was a former member of Perkins United Methodist Church, and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Jo Ann Trueblood of Camden, NC; two grandchildren, Todd Trueblood of Camden, NC, and Joey Tirak of Charlotte, NC. Mrs. Hughes was the thirteenth child of nineteen children. She was predeceased by ten sisters and eight brothers. A funeral service will be held Sunday, October 23, 2005, at 1:00 PM in Twiford’s Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC, with the Rev. David Combs officiating. Burial will follow in the West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. At other times the family will be at the residence.
