Obituary of Hubert Driskill

Hubert Morton ‘Mort’ Driskill, 76, of Grandy, NC, died Sunday November 6, 2005 at the Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA. Mr. Driskill was born April 10, 1929 in Charlotte County, Phoenix, VA and was the son of the late Asa Henry Driskill and Tabitha Sue Hall Driskill. He was a retired glazier with Walker-Laberge Glass Company in Norfolk, VA a former member of the Coleman Place Presbyterian Church, and member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and Windsor Hunting Club. Survivors include: his wife Marjorie Perry Driskill; a daughter Mary Kathryn Warburton and her husband Bill of Elizabeth City, NC; two brothers George Warren Driskill and William H. Driskill of Norfolk, VA. He was preceded in death by his first wife Betty Lee Williams Driskill on June 20, 1980. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 8, at 10:00 A. M. at the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Grandy, NC with Rev. Glenn McCrannie officiating. The family will join friends Monday evening from 6:00 P. M. to 7:30 P. M at Twiford Funeral Home, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, and immediately following the church service in the church fellowship hall. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 P. M. at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk, VA. It is suggested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, C/o 404 Jessup Street, Elizabeth City, NC 27909.
