Obituary of Clara Tillet

Mrs. Clara Sumner Tillett, age 85, formerly of East Williams Circle, Elizabeth City, NC, died Friday, November 4, 2005, at the Albemarle Hospital. Mrs. Tillett, a native of Perquimans County, NC, was the daughter of the late Charles Ford Sumner, Jr., and Pickett Anthony Sumner and the widow of Harry Marshall Tillett, Sr. She was a homemaker and a member of Blackwell Memorial Baptist Church. Mrs. Tillett is survived by two daughters, Carol Day, and husband Steve, and Peggy Smith, and husband Greg, all of Elizabeth City, NC; a son, Harry Marshall Tillett, Jr., of Elizabeth City, NC; four grandchildren; and one expected great grandchild. She was predeceased by a brother, Charles Ford Sumner, III. A funeral service will be Sunday, November 6, 2005, at 3:00 PM at Twiford’s Memorial Chapel with the Rev. F. Joe Griffith officiating.
