Obituary of Myrna Kay Sapone
Wanchese, NC
Myrna Kay Owens Sapone, 59, died Monday, November 7, 2005 at her residence. Mrs. Sapone was born in Norfolk, VA and retired with the Dare County Public Schools. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church and attended Wanchese Assembly of God and was ‘Mom to many and sister to all.’ She was the daughter of the late William Anderson Owens and the late Iva ‘Bill’ Tillett Owens and the wife of Nick F. Sapone of the home.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters; Lorie Fitzgerald and Jill Sapone, both of Wanchese; one son, Nicholas O. Sapone also of Wanchese; two grandchildren, Annie Jo Fitzgerald and Jordan Fitzgerald; two nieces, Debbie Owens and Donna Roughton, both in Wanchese and many aunts and cousins. She was preceded in death by one brother, William Conrad ‘Pug’ Owens.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Bethany United Methodist Church, Wanchese, on Thursday, November 10, 2005 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Billy Ballance, Rev. Ken Davenport and Rev. David Dalton officiating. Burial will take place in the Tillett Cemetery, Wanchese. The family will be receiving friends at the home, 292 The Lane, Wanchese.
