Obituary of Hubert W. Ambrose

MANNS HARBOR, NC HUBERT WILSON AMBROSE, 84, of Manns Harbor, NC died Wednesday, November 9, 2005 at the Outer Banks Hospital. Mr. Ambrose born in Pasquotank County, NC, was a retired heavy equipment operator for Dare County. He was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church and served with the U.S. Maritime Service during WWII. He was the son of the late Lonnie Stewart Ambrose and the late Rado Basnight Ambrose. He is also preceded in death by a sister, Lola Mae Barnett and a brother, Nolan Stewart Ambrose. Mr. Ambrose is survived by his wife, Willie Mae ‘Tish’ Crain Ambrose of the residence; a daughter, Julia Faye Holmes of Manteo, NC; two sons, Roy Hubert Ambrose and wife, Sharon and Willie Christopher Ambrose and wife, Kimberly all of Manns Harbor, NC; two grandsons, Roy Hubert Ambrose, Jr. and wife, Melissa of Kitty Hawk, NC and Jeffrey Paul Ambrose and wife, Crystal of Manns Harbor, NC; and three great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Hannah and Blake Ambrose. Funeral services will be held at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, Manns Harbor, on Saturday, November 13, 2005 at 11:00 am with Rev. Debbie Grossberg and Rev. Steve Crews officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Twiford’s Colony Chapel, Manteo on Friday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 pm and at other times at the residence at 6829 Ambrose Lane, Manns Harbor. Twiford’s Colony Chapel, Manteo is assisting the family with arrangements.
