Horace ‘Bud’ Cook, Jr., 56, of 1727 Uncle Buddy Road, Elizabeth City, NC, died at his residence on Sunday, November 20, 2005. Born in Spruce Pine, NC, in Mitchell County, he was the son of the late Horace and Elizabeth McKinney Cook, Sr., and the husband of his beloved wife of six years Beverly ‘Bonnie’ Smock Cook of the residence. He received an Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Air Force where he was an airplane controller. He lived most of his life in Norfolk, VA. Mr. Cook was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Besides his wife, Mr. Cook is survived by: two daughters, Pam Sinks and husband Aaron of Chesapeake, VA, and Valerie Palmer and fianc David Jones of Elizabeth City, NC; three sons, Ryan Cook of Elizabeth City, NC, Lane Palmer, Jr. of Howell, NJ, and Arnold Palmer and wife Tracey of Brick, NJ; one sister, Judy Miller and husband Charles of Chesapeake, VA; six grandchildren; and his beloved pet Buddy boy.
Memorial services will be conducted Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at 1:00 PM at Salem Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeffery C. Russell officiating. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Horace Budé"" Cook, Jr. Memorial Fund, c/o Beverly Cook, 1727 Uncle Buddy Road, Elizabeth City, NC 27909.
