Obituary of Betty D. Lathinghouse

Betty Davis Lathinghouse, age 72, of 1000 Old Denbigh Blvd., Newport News, VA, died Tuesday November 22, 2005 in the Riverside Convalescent Center. She was born in Washington County, NC, daughter of the late James Thomas Davis and Blanche Phelps Davis and was the widow of Floyd Thomas Lathinghouse. Mrs. Lathinghouse was the former owner and operator of a restaurant and was a member of the Bethlehem Church of Christ. She is survived by two daughters, Dinah P. Grant and her husband Steve of Poquoson, VA, and Wanda P. Clifton and her husband Norman of Creswell, NC; two sons, Bobby Phelps of Creswell, NC, and Jerry Phelps of Jacksonville, NC; three step children, one of which is Keith Lathinghouse of Hollywood, FL; two sisters, Cleo Ambrose of Creswell, NC, and Onieda Davis of San Antonio, TX; two brothers, Wayne Davis of Va. Beach, VA, and Melvin Davis of San Antonio, TX; nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. A memorial service will be Sunday, November 27, 2005 at 2:00 PM in the Bethlehem Church of Christ, Hertford, NC by Minister Phillip Alligood. Twiford Funeral Home, 405 E.
