Obituary of Richard Kappler

EC KAPPLER Barco, NC Richard Joseph Kappler, age 78, of Barco, NC, died Monday, November 28, 2005, in Sentara Nursing Center Currituck. He was born in Somerville, MA, son of the late Leon Kappler and Blanche Marcinkiewicz Kappler. Richard served 24 years in the military, two years in the Navy Seabees, 10 years in the U.S. Army as a Military Police, 12 years in the Engineering Battalion and a retired Staff Sergeant E7 Class, and was a Purple Heart recipient. He also retired from his second career as a mail sorter for the U.S. Postal Service. Mr. Kappler is survived by one daughter, Sandy Silovi of NH; two sons Steven Kappler of RI, and Wayne Kappler of MA; two sisters, Justina McCloud of MA and Jennie Gregory of FL; and two grandchildren.
