Alverta Potter Beadles Meiggs

Alverta Potter Beadles Meiggs, 83, of 133 Sawyers Creek Road, Camden, NC, died Saturday, December 10, 2005 at Winslow Memorial Home. She was born in Beaufort County, NC, the daughter of the late Charles and Lettie Lupton Potter and was the widow of Earl Meiggs and Everett Beadles. She was a retired housemother for the nursing students at College of the Albemarle, a member of Geneva Baptist Church, a past assistant director of the Elizabeth City Girls Club, and one of the founding members of the Craftsman Fair Guild.
Mrs. Meiggs is survived by a daughter, Linda B. Walston; a son, Allen Beadles and fiance Vergie Hall; three grandchildren, Toni Phillips and husband Stacey, Michael Walston and wife Jackie, and Nicholas Beadles; and four great grandchildren, Brandi Bailey and husband Phillip, Mandi Norton, Alex Walston, and Tyler Walston.
A funeral service will be held Monday, December 12, 2005 at 2:00 pm in Twifords Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Don Carter officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the lobby of the funeral home and at other times at the residence, 133 Sawyers Creek Road, Camden, NC.
