Obituary of Christine Scolaro

Christine Myers Scolaro, 80, passed away Friday, December 9th after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Auburn, New York, but has lived in Fairfax, Virginia and Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina for many years. She was a graduate of Auburn East High School and the College of New Rochelle. She was an avid swimmer and Girl Scout Leader for many years. Christine was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church of Kitty Hawk, N.C. and a member of the choir for twenty years. Her brother, Jim and sister, Dorothy predeceased her. Surviving are her husband of fifty-eight years, Sam; three daughters; Linda Shaw and husband Mike of Simpsonville, South Carolina, Michelle Farley of Montross, Virginia, and Marie Caras and husband Bob of Vienna, Virginia; one son, Mark and wife Peggy of Manassas, Virginia; eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one brother, Thomas Myers and wife Dottie of Cicero, New York, brother and sister in-laws and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial mass will be held at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina on Friday, January 13, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. A reception at the church will follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, 930 B. Wellness Drive, Greenville, NC 27834. Twiford’s Funeral Home, Manteo, is assisting the family with these arrangements.
