Obituary of Edna H. Ludford
Edna Hancock Ludford, 90, a resident Elizabeth City, died peacefully with her daughter at her side, Tuesday March 21, 2006, at Winslow Memorial Home.
Mrs. Ludford was born April 19, 1915 in Pasquotank County, and was the daughter of the late Edward James Hancock and Anna Jane Twiddy Hancock.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a former employee with Norfolk Carolina Telephone Company, and was employed with the Elizabeth City Credit Bureau.
Survivors include her daughter; Marguerite L. Harris and her husband Bobby of Camden, NC., a son Enoch ‘Buzzy’ Ludford, III and his wife Judy of Kill Devil Hills, NC., a brother-in-law Frank C. Ludford and his wife Carolyn of Elizabeth City, NC., grandchildren Kimberly Jackson and her husband Greg, Brandi Jordan and her husband Gerald, Hunter Harris and his wife Susan and Amanda Ludford, and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Enoch Ludford, Jr., who died on July 19, 1991, her brother Edward James Hancock, Jr., and sister Marguerite H. Knowles.
A graveside funeral service will be held Thursday March 23, at 10:00 A. M. at Old Hollywood Cemetery with Rev. Don Carter and Rev. Clay Manos officiating.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the home of her daughter and son-in-law Marguerite and Bobby Harris, 291 Belcross Road, Camden, NC. The family would like to thank, Albemarle Hospice for the loving care of their mother.
