Obituary of Evelyn Purbaugh

Evelyn Louise Smith Purbaugh, 77, of 1720 County Street, Elizabeth City, NC died Friday, April 16, 200 at Sentara Norfolk Hospital. Mrs. Purbaugh, a native of Perquimans County, was the daughter of the late George Smith and Thelma Smith and the wife of Donald Lee Purbaugh, Sr., of the residence. She was retired from the Hosiery Mill. Besides her husband she is survived by a daughter, Pamela Jo Krawczyk and husband Anthony of Elizabeth City, NC; a son, Joseph Andrew Wood and wife Kim of San Antonio, TX; a sister, Bobbie Jean Wright of Spring Hill, FL; and two grandchildren, Andrew Wood and Shelby Wood. A memorial service will be Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Twiford's Memorial Chapel with the Rev. James Roland Cooper officiating. The family will receive friends in the lobby immediately after the service. Memorial donations may be made to one's favorite charity.
