Obituary of Christine Leslie

Christine Leslie, 67, passed away Monday October 3rd in her home on Ocracoke Island, NC. Originally born in Pittsburgh, PA, Christine was one of Robert and Louise Smith's 9 children. While she lived in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Virginia at various times in her life, Christine found her heart's true home on Ocracoke Island, where she was surrounded by dear friends. Besides her passion for the Pittsburgh Steelers and cross-stitch, Christine loved to spend time enjoying the natural beauty of "her island" and the company of her neighbors and friends. In addition to her brothers and sisters, Christine is survived by her three daughters, their husbands, and three beautiful granddaughters. Christine was an independent, gentle soul full of joy and she will be sorely missed by many. In accordance with her wishes, Christine's ashes will be set adrift in the ocean where she will have eternal freedom and everlasting peace. This simple memorial is set for Spring of 2012 and a reception will follow on Ocracoke Island where friends and family are invited to share in a celebration of her life.
