Obituary of Barbara Ann West
WEST, Barbara Ann - 67, Port Hawkesbury, formerly of Liverpool, died Sunday, July 3, 2005, in Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Milton, Queens Co., she was a daughter of the late Earl and Doris (Berriman) McDonald. She was a former employee of the Canadian Tire Corporation, Port Hawkesbury, and Liverpool Ladies Wear. She was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 38, Liverpool. Over the years, Barbara was president of the Canadian Tire Bowling League and one of the founders of the Liverpool Hockey Moms. She was a member of the Evergreen Senior Citizens Club, Port Hawkesbury. Barb was a wonderful lady who loved her family, spent her life caring for them and enjoying every moment with them. She is survived by husband, Earl; daughter, Pamela, Port Hawkesbury; daughter-in-law, Donna Leigh West, Liverpool; sons, Paul (fiancée Jenny), Peter (Julie), both of Toronto, Ont.; Philip (Sheri), Truro; sisters, Doreen (Donnie) Cunningham, Milton; Sherri (Ted) Roy, Truro; grandchildren, Jacob, Alyssa, Tyler, Jonathan, Megan, and Patric. She was predeceased by son, Patrick; brother, Robert; stepfathers, Victor Gerhardt and Ken Taillon; father and mother-in-law, Earl Thomas and Rhoda Noreen West.
Visitation 7-9 p.m. Thursday, 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Friday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral service 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Mark's United Church, Port Hawkesbury, Donna Tourneur officiating. Burial in Southbrook Cemetery.
