Obituary of Archie Gillis

GILLIS, Archie - 51, West Bay Road, died Tuesday, May 18, 2004, in River Denys. Born in Inverness, he was a son of the late Angus A. and Rodena Belle (MacLennan) Gillis. He was employed as a machine operator for MacLeod Resources, River Denys and was a member of Forbes United Church, River Denys. Surviving are his common-law wife, Michelle Leopold; brothers, Allister (Myra), River Denys; Roddie (Peggy), Blues Mills; Calvin (Ann Marie), River Denys; nieces, Heather, Cathy, Corene; nephews, Barry, Glen, Dougie. He was predeceased by brother, Duncan, common-law wife, Betty MacEachern. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. today and 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Friday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Whycocomagh. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday in Forbes United Church, Rev. Aaron Billard officiating. Burial will be held in Fir Grove Cemetery.
