Obituary of Hector Gordon MacKay

MacKAY, Hector Gordon - 80, St. George's Channel, died Sunday, March 6, 2005, in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston. Born in St. George's Channel, he was a son of the late Alexander and Christene (MacRae) MacKay. He served in the army during the Second World War and worked at Gulf Oil Refinery for many years in Toronto and Point Tupper. He is survived by sisters, Hazel Pursey, St. Peter's; Annie Williams, Ottawa; Helen (Jim) MacLachlan, Toronto; brothers, Duncan, Wiarton, Ont.; Alex, St. George's Channel. He was predeceased by his wife, Frances Lou; sisters, Violet, Dolena, Katherine; brothers, John H. and William. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-5 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. There will be no funeral service. Burial will be at a later date in MacKay Cemetery, St. George's Channel. Family flowers only please.
