Obituary of Catherine Irene Carey

CAREY, Catherine Irene - 88, Canso, died Wednesday, June 23, 2004, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Canso, she was daughter of the late William and Esther (Ryan) Carey. Irene was a retired bookkeeper at the former St. Rita's Hospital, Sydney for 35 years. She was a member of Star of the Sea parish, Canso. Surviving are nieces, Emily (Lawrence) Dort, Canso; Irene (Francis) Snow, Toronto; Sheila (Donald) Carey, Halifax; nephews, William McKeough, Fox Island; Kenneth Carey, Halifax. She was predeceased by sisters, Mary, Alice, Sister Edna CSM; brothers, Thomas and George. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. today in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Father Daniel Boudreau officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only.
