Obituary of James Peter Matheson
Matheson, James Peter, 42, Dartmouth, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loving family and friends, April 7, 2005 at the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax.
Born in Baddeck, son of Frank and Anne (MacMillan), Aberdeen. Besides his parents, he is survived by special friend, Joseph Boudreau, brother, Allan (Phyllis), sisters, Karen (Malcolm MacKinnon), Judy (Milford Austen), Connie (Duart MacAulay), and Denise (Jeffrey Beaton). Jimmie was a special uncle to Allison (Melvin Nichols), Shane (Carleen), Jody (Josh Arenburg), Isaac and Wade Matheson, Lana and Kyla MacKinnon, Devin, Cory and Bradley Austen, Breagh and Hilary MacAulay, and granduncle to Ainsley, Laird and Mairead Nichols. He will be lovingly remembered by aunts Jon MacLeod, Harriett Morrison, Jamie Ross, Mary (Wilfred) Asaph and Verna MacMillan, uncle Norman Cameron. He was predeceased by grandparents Dan Frank and Katie Flora Matheson, Allan and Albin MacMillan, aunts Mabel Matheson, Chris Cameron, uncles, Peter MacMillan, Leonard Matheson, Douglas MacLeod, Andrew Morrison and Donald Ross.
James was a dedicated employee of the N.S. Department of Transportation for many years.
Visitation 7-9 p.m. Saturday and 2-9 p.m. Sunday at Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Whycocomagh. Funeral service 2 p.m. Monday, Little Narrows Presbyterian Church, Rev. Ron Sharpe officiating, assisted by Rev. Donald Sutherland. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to Palliative Care or Canadian Cancer Society.
