Obituary of Rose Elizabeth Mason

MASON, Rose Elizabeth - 70, Canso, died April 14, 2005, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Durells Island, she was a daughter of the late Roland and Bessie (Ryter) George. She was a homemaker and a member of the Star of the Sea Church, Canso, and the Senior Citizens Shamrock Club. Surviving are daughters, Geraldine, Dartmouth; Diana (Purvis) Richardson, Canso; Donna (Lenny), Lundy; son, Brian (Marion), Peas Brook; sisters, Mathilda Ouellette, Mary (Glen) Landry, Jessie (Bill) Dort, all of Trenton; Elsie (Wilfred) David, Durells Island; brothers, Coleman, Durells Island; Fred, Trenton; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson. She was predeceased by her husband, Vivian; sister, Emma Feltmate; brothers, Gilbert, Lawrence, Clarence. Visitation will be held 2-9 p.m. today and 2-9 p.m. Sunday in the Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Monday in the Star of the Sea Church, Canso, Rev. Daniel Boudreau officiating. Burial to take place in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Star of the Sea Building Fund or any charity.
