Obituary of John K. MacDonald
MacDONALD, John K. - 89, Alba Station, Inverness Co., passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2004, in Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born on Whycocomagh Mountain, he was a son of the late Neil and Margaret (Morrison) MacDonald. He was a long-time employee of Little Narrows Gypsum, and a member of Little Narrows Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by daughters, Mary Mikkelsen, Tweed, Ont.; Charleen, Alba Station; Marilyn, Argyle; Jean (Wayne) MacAulay, Baddeck Bay; Glenda (Rick) Mercer, Middle Sackville; son, Brian (Shannon), Whycocomagh; sister, Mabel MacDonald, Stewartdale; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Catherine; daughter, Anne St. Jean; sisters, Effie, Margaret, Annie; brothers, Archie, John Malcolm, Duncan, Roddie.
Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Friday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Whycocomagh. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday in Little Narrows Presbyterian Church, Rev. Dr. Floyd MacPhee officiating. Burial in Estmere Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Estmere Cemetery Society.
