Obituary of Daniel Neil MacLean
MacLEAN, Daniel Neil 'Danny' - 72, Aberdeen, died Monday, April 26, 2004, at home.
Born in Verden, Man., he was a son of the late John M. and Marion (Sproule) MacLean. He was a retired carpenter and member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church where he served on the Board of Managers. He was a member of Sircom Lodge, No. 66, Whycocomagh, Philae Shrine Temple and Causeway Shrine Club.
He is survived by his wife, the former Libby MacRae; daughters, Heather (Stephen) Page, Dawson Creek, B.C.; Denise (Christopher) Huyghue, Halifax; son, Daniel (Connie) MacLean, Dawson Creek; stepdaughters, Mary Ellen MacLaughlin, Virginia MacLaughlin, Rosie (Steve) Houston, all of Massachusetts; Cathy (Danie) MacKinnon, Blues Mills; Mary Anne (Mark) Lewis, Eastern Passage; stepsons, Charles (Cindy) MacLaughlin, Michael (Mary) MacLaughlin, both of Massachusetts; Michael MacRae, Edmonton, Alta.; sisters, Julia (Donald) Kennedy, Whycocomagh; Florence Spears, Inverness; Olive (Jack) Hawley, Port Hood; Ruth (Nute) MacPhail, Lake Ainslie; Donna Mae (John) Beaton, Halifax; Jonena MacLellan, Lake Ainslie; brother, Malcolm (Mary) MacLean, Stewartdale; grandchildren, Josie and Bailey MacLean, Stephen, James and Arianna Page, Mark, Brian and Rachel Huyghue; numerous stepgrandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by first wife, Mary Catherine 'M.C.' MacDonald; second wife, Maureen MacLaughlin.
Visitation will be held 2-9 p.m. Thursday, April 29, with Masonic service at 7 p.m., both in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Whycocomagh. Funeral will be held 2 p.m. Friday, April 30, in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Rev. Lloyd Murdock officiating. Interment in East Lake Ainslie Cemetery. Family flowers only please.
Memorial donations may be made to Shriners' Children's Travel Fund, Palliative Care Victoria County Memorial Hospital or St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church.
