Obituary of George Leitch MacIntosh

MacINTOSH, George Leitch - 95, Militia Point, Inverness Co., passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2004, in Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Baddeck. Born in Militia Point, he was a son of the late Daniel and Jessie (MacGregor) MacIntosh. He was a retired farmer and road foreman for the Department of Highways. He was the last surviving member of Union United Church, Malagawatch, before it was moved to Highland Village, Iona, and attended the opening service at its new location, of which he was the secretary for 50 years. Surviving are sister, Kenena Spencer, Port Morien; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister, Agnes MacIntosh; brothers, Rev. Rod, Rev. Paynter, Alex, and Kenneth. There will be no visitation by request. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday in Orangedale United Church, with Rev. Fraser MacDonald officiating. Burial to follow in Malagawatch Cemetery. Donations in memory of George may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or a charity of choice.
